CITIC CLSA Management Committee Member, Division Management of CITICS CLSA Capital Partners
Mr. Hu leads CITICS CLSA Capital Partners, the global alternative investment platform of CITIC Securities. He joined CITIC Securities in May 2014, and served in its onshore alternative investment platform Goldstone Investment Co., Ltd, as Deputy General Manager and Member of Investment Committee, and heads CITIC M&A Fund, the flagship PE fund of CITIC Securities.
Mr. Hu brings c. 20 years of investment experience, and has led and closed numerous private equity deals in healthcare, TMT, and high-end manufacturing sectors, and is equipped with rich knowledge in private equity and corporate leadership. Prior to joining CITIC Securities, Mr. Hu served as Head of Investment Division II and Member of Investment Committee in CDB Capital.
Mr. Hu holds leadership positions in top players of various strategically-important industries. He served as the Chairman of Ampleon, a global-leading semiconductor company headquartered in Netherland, and is currently Director of Pharmaron, a top-5 CRO company in the world.
Deborah Feng
Deputy Head of CITICS CLSA Capital Partners
Ms. Feng has over 14 years of experience in private equity investment, portfolio management and investment banking in Greater China. She joined CITICS CLSA Capital Partners in 2019, while serving as Director of Healthcare Investment Department in Goldstone.
Joining Goldstone in 2016, Ms. Feng participated in a considerable number of private equity deals in healthcare and TMT sector. Prior to joining Goldstone, she worked for the Investment Banking Division of Zhong De Securities (China joint venture established by Deutsche Bank) for more than 6 years, and completed various corporate finance deals including IPOs, M&A and follow-on offerings. Ms. Feng holds a bachelor’s degree in international economics and commerce from Zhejiang University and a master’s degree in economics from Baylor University Hankamer School of Business. Ms. Feng holds China A-share Sponsor Representative Qualification equivalent.
Amy Jia
Director, Credit Business and Head of Healthcare Investment Division, CLSA China Growth Fund
Ms. Jia has over 9 years of private equity investment and business start-up experience in Greater China. She joined CITICS CLSA Capital Partners in 2019, while serving as SVP of Healthcare Investment Department in Goldstone.
Joining Goldstone in 2016, Ms. Jia participated in a considerable number of private equity deals in healthcare and TMT sector. Prior to joining Goldstone Investment, she was the co-founder and CEO of China Loyalty Fine Wines Limited, a cross-border trading platform incorporated in Hong Kong. Ms. Jia holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from University of Hong Kong and a MBA degree from New York University Stern School of Business. She is also a CFA Charterholder.
Derek Hung
Managing Director, Head of Transaction Management
Mr. Hung currently serves as Managing Director, Head of Transaction Management of CITICS CLSA Capital Partners. He has over 15 years of experience in private equity investments and law in Asia and is legally qualified in England & Wales, New South Wales and Hong Kong. He joined CITICS CLSA Capital Partners in 2021.
Previously he was the General Counsel at China-ASEAN Fund, the Assistant Head of Legal at CCB International and a Senior Associate at Clifford Chance. Mr. Hung holds undergraduate degrees in commerce and in law from the University of New South Wales.
Jacky Cheung
Head of Finance
Mr Cheung has been with CLSA Capital Partners for more than 3 years, with finance and project experience in principal investment, asset management and fund administrative services. He is currently responsible for providing managerial, financial and governance oversight to more than 13 different private equity, real estate, debt, special situation funds and principal investment strategies across Asia and Europe. Prior to that, he was Senior Finance manager in CITIC Capital, responsible for financial reporting and management reporting for the Group and fund administrative service to various funds under CITIC Capital. He is a member of HKICPA and ACCA.
Nick Chiu
Director, Operations
Mr. Chiu currently serves as Operations Director of CLSA Capital Partners. He has over 13 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Before he joined CLSA Capital Partners, Mr. Chiu was the Head of Compliance of Taikang Asset Management in Hong Kong, overseeing regulatory compliance matters including AML/CFT and KYC programs. Mr. Chiu was a Manager in the Intermediaries Supervision Department of the SFC before he joined Deutsche Bank Asset Management as a Compliance Manager.
Prior to that, he was an Audit Manager with KPMG Financial Services Hong Kong and a Compliance and Regulatory Executive at Deacons. Mr. Chiu holds an undergraduate degree in BBA Accounting and Finance from the University of Hong Kong and is a Certified Public Accountant in Hong Kong.
